chiku will not tell you how long spinach keeps, and will not tell you whether the spinach in your hand is still worth eating. That call is yours, made at the fridge, with your own eyes.

No, and chiku never will. chiku counts days on the dates you type in, so a date is a day to go and look, not a verdict. Your eyes and your nose decide, and official food safety guidance outranks any app, including this one.
No. There is no sign up, no email, no password. Download it and chiku shows up.
On your phone. There is no server holding your groceries, your photos or your notes, and this website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Purchases are handled by the app stores through RevenueCat, which is the only thing that leaves the device. Deleting the app deletes the rest.
A spreadsheet waits for you to remember it exists. chiku whispers once a day if something is coming up, suggests a dinner from what needs eating first, and writes the household a short weekly note. It is the anti spreadsheet.
